3 found people found dead in apparent murder-suicide at Statesville home, officers say
THIS IS BREAKING NEWS. AND THAT BREAKING NEWS IS OUT OF ASHEBORO. THE PARENTS OF A SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THE KILLING OF A 16 YEAR OLD ARE NOW FACING CHARGES THEMSELVES. DENISE VERRICO RUBIUS AND ALFREDO MARTINEZ RAMIREZ ARE ACCUSED OF HELPING THEIR CHILD EVADE ARREST. BOTH OF THEM WERE BOOKED ON COUNTS OF ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT AND GIVEN BOND. POLICE SAY THEIR CHILD IS ACCUSED OF KILLING 16 YEAR OLD PEDRO ORTIZ PEREZ. IT HAPPENED AT NORTH ASHEBORO PARK. ORTIZ PEREZ DIED MORE THAN A WEEK AFTER HE WAS SHOT. A 16 YEAR-OLD WAS ARRESTED IN STATESVILLE IN CONNECTION TO THE SHOOTING. INVESTIGATORS BELIEVE PEDRO WAS NOT THE INTENDED TARGET. When officers arrived, they found three people dead inside the house. None of the people who died have been identified at this time. An infant was in the home at the time, but was not injured, police said.
